The Midweek Bruges - Lokeren starts in Ghent and takes you across the Leie first to Deinze. This city, lying about 20 km west of Ghent, was first mentioned in 890 under the name Donsa and is situated on the river Lys. Here flourished from the Middle Ages until after World War II, the flax industry.
The next day you reach the world heritage city of Bruges (one of the most beautiful cities in Europe), between the winding alleys and romantic canals of Bruges encounter a wealth of museums, which reflects in turn form an impressive image of the city's stirring history. Then it goes over the canal Gent-Oostende back to Ghent, the capital of the Belgian province of East Flanders and to the district of Ghent. On Thursday morning, you continue the journey to Lokeren. Lokeren, the name comes from the pre-Celtic times and means "place at the clear water".

On Friday afternoon, ends this short week again in Ghent in our harbor.
