northernroute
The Northernroute is a very varied route. You sail on wide waters, narrow canals and rivers, wide lakes, along nice little villages and towns, as for instance Dokkum. This town is the most northern town of the Netherlands. After this you sail to Leeuwarden, the capital town of our province, where you can pass the night in the Prinsentuin . It's also very nice to sail along the Princenhof, a magnificent nature reserve , just as the canal from Leeuwarden to Bolsward, when you pass many low little bridges is also certainly worth while. This route is very suitable for beginners. The first days you sail on wide waters and you won't come across any locks on this route neither. According as you follow the route and get more experience the skills will grow per day.
